Title: Pulmonary Disease Physician Principle Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to individuals specializing in the respiratory system. Evaluate, diagnose, provide consultation, medically manage and treat pulmonary disease patients. Review patient’s medical history and synthesize comprehensive data. Evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care. Provide education, consultation, or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families. Work collaboratively with patients to improve health and well‑being. Practice in a thoughtful manner, including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities. Document in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope. Actively participate in multidisciplinary team approach to case management. Provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting. Participate in on‑call rotation. Quality Improvement Utilize quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows. Participate in peer review and quality assurance. Job Requirements Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine. Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency training program in Internal Medicine. Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship training program in Pulmonary Disease. Less than 2 years of demonstrated experience in the designated specialty area. Licensed physician in MN with current certification or active participation in exams leading to certification in Pulmonary Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine or in Pulmonary Diseases by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine upon hire. ACLS/BLS Tier 3—Multisource required upon hire. PALS—Pediatric Advanced Life Support—Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire. NRP—Neonatal Resuscitation—Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire. Licensed physician in WI upon hire required. Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required. Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required. National Provider Identifier upon hire required. Physical Demands Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs frequently. Outpatient clinics for pulmonary and sleep; some virtual clinics; rounding at Mercy Hospital, including some night call. Pay Range $290,000 to $335,000 per year. Starting base pay range assumes full‑time FTE. Actual rate depends on experience, education, and union agreement if applicable.
