Cyber Security Analyst - SkillBridge Opportunity

This role is available through the SkillBridge program , with a strong pathway to long‑term employment.

Engagement Structure

• SkillBridge program participation
• Followed by a 12‑month contract‑to‑hire
• Target conversion to full‑time employment: 12–15 months

Location

• Fully onsite - Murrieta, CA

Compensation

• Up to $95,000/year (rate dependent on experience and contract terms)

Work Schedule

This role supports a growing 24/7 Security Operations Center

(SOC). Two shifts are available:

• First Shift: 5:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Second Shift: 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Role Overview

The Cyber Security Analyst will be a hands‑on contributor

supporting the setup and maturation of a 24/7 SOC. This role goes beyond

passive monitoring or report review and is focused on actively improving cyber

defense capabilities, controls, and processes.

You will monitor, manage, and investigate security alerts, while

also helping establish standard operating procedures and best practices to

reduce organizational risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts from Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
• Investigate and triage potential threats and security incidents
• Actively contribute to the development and implementation of security best practices
• Help establish and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Support vulnerability identification and remediation efforts
• Partner with internal teams to strengthen cyber controls and improve overall security posture

Required / Desired Skills

Experience with the following tools or comparable technologies:

• SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel preferred)
  • Configuration, tuning, monitoring, and alert investigation
• Vulnerability management tools
  • Nessus Vulnerability Suite or similar
• Endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR)
  • Microsoft Defender XDR or equivalent

The organization is standing up a 24/7 SOC and is seeking a higher‑level skill set capable of shaping how security operations are run. The goal is to create consistent cyber controls, repeatable standards, and strong defensive practices that meaningfully reduce the likelihood of a security breach.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to help build , improve , and own parts of a security program—not just observe it.

This is a Contract position based out of Murrieta, CA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Murrieta,CA.

This position is anticipated to close on May 1, 2026.
