Position Overview:

We are seeking either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to join our clinical team.  Candidates who are licensed or eligible to practice as either an NP or a PA are encouraged to apply. New graduates are also encouraged to apply. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow within pain management and spine care!

This position will provide direct patient care for individuals with acute and chronic pain conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and spine-related disorders in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate is comfortable evaluating patients independently, developing treatment plans, coordinating care with physicians, and educating patients on treatment options and long-term pain management strategies. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic testing and imaging.
  • Assess and manage patients with chronic pain, back and neck pain, musculoskeletal conditions, neuropathy, joint pain, and spine-related disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician and clinical team.
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work, X-rays, MRI, CT, and other studies as appropriate.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Indiana regulations, practice protocols, and scope of practice.
  • Provide follow-up care and ongoing management for patients receiving conservative treatment, medication management, and interventional pain procedures.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and preventative care.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, medical assistants, physical therapists, imaging centers, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Assist with pre-procedure and post-procedure patient management as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable federal and Indiana state regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

  • Current Indiana licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date.
  • Current national certification through ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA.
  • DEA registration and prescriptive authority, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and other members of the healthcare team. 
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience as an NP or PA in pain management, orthopedics, spine, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, urgent care, or a related specialty preferred.
  • Experience managing chronic pain patients and familiarity with interventional pain management or spine procedures preferred.
  • Experience with EHR systems and medical documentation.
  • Knowledge of controlled substance prescribing, pain contracts, and monitoring requirements.
