Job Summary Are you an LPN with a passion for surgical care but tired of the grueling hours of traditional nursing? We are looking for "difference makers" to join our growing team. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented nurse who thrives in a fast-paced operative environment. You will provide critical care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring every patient feels supported and every procedure runs seamlessly.
If you have the passion, we are willing to train the right individual. Job Responsibilities Surgical Support & OR Prep - OR Readiness: Prepare the operating room by assembling, disinfecting, and testing all necessary equipment before procedures.
- Surgical Assisting: Assist surgeons during procedures by passing sterile instruments and supplies, ensuring the operative field remains the priority.
- Aseptic Excellence: Maintain strict aseptic techniques and immediately report any breaks in protocol to ensure patient safety.
- Specimen Handling: Receive and prepare medical specimens for laboratory analysis.
Patient Care & Facility Maintenance - Clinical Documentation: Record patient symptoms, administer medications, and assist with rehabilitation.
- Patient Education: Provide emotional support and educate patients and families on medical conditions and recovery.
- Turnover & Inventory: Clean and restock the operating room following each procedure and maintain an accurate inventory of surgical supplies.
Qualifications Required: - Licensure/Certification: Active LPN License OR current Surgical Technology certification .
- Life Support: Current certification in Cardiac Life Support .
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Training: Completion of a Surgical Technician training program (equivalent combinations of experience/training will be considered).
- Physical: Ability to stand for sustained periods and lift up to 15 lbs.
Preferred: - Experience: 1+ years of related work experience in an operating room setting.
- Engagement: Membership in a surgical specialty society is encouraged.
- Traits: Proactive, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
