Description
Lanai Air is a critical component to the delivery of high quality-high touch consistent service experience to every guest traveling. Lanai Air is responsible for providing a seamless point to point delivery between the Hawaiian Islands.
The Ramp Service Agent is responsible for overall cleanliness of the aircraft vehicles and ground equipment used in the operation. This position will also be responsible for aircraft arrival / departure handling cargo & baggage acceptance loading and offloading and guest transportation. This position will also participate in the ground service during the arrival & departure process as guests transition through the interisland airports.. Safety of the guest and assets are of utmost importance and the Ramp Service Agent is responsible to ensure that this is adhered to. The team will interact with the logistics coordinators & Western Aircraft crew & maintenance team. Communication is key to ensure a smooth and safe operation.
Compensation:
$22.22/hour (non-exempt)
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: Ramp Operations Manager (Honolulu) Assistant Guest Service Manager (neighbor islands)
Coordinates with: Lanai Air Guest Service Agents & System Operation and Reservation Coordinators Western Aircraft crew and maintenance team.
Quality Standards:
Essential Duties (Aircraft/Vehicle Detailing):
Cleans and washes the interior and exterior of aircraft vehicles and equipment.
Washes windows and cleans the tires of aircraft vehicles and equipment.
Polishes the exterior of aircraft vehicles and equipment.
Vacuums interior upholstery.
Dusts and polishes wood work.
Cleans dust and dirt out of controls in cockpit.
Cleans the hangar facility including floor and walls on a regular basis.
Reports any discrepancies to Supervisor.
Continually keeps work areas clean and organized.
Utilizes support equipment in a safe manner to accomplish work tasks.
Essential Duties (Ground Service and Transportation):
Education / Experience:
High school diploma/GED preferred.
Previous airline experience preferred.
Physical labor experience and/or working in a warehouse environment.
Knowledge/Skills:
Requires the highest level of professionalism and hospitality when interacting with Lānai Air guest.
Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Requires good judgment and a common sense approach to the work.
Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to lend a helping hand.
Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under conditions that are changing on a moments notice.
Requires an ability to take responsibility and be accountable.
Must be skilled in multi-tasking. The work load is constant and must be handled in a timely manner. Responsible to handle a variety of tasks at the same time.
Must work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and third party vendors.
Must be able to problem solve and to identify resources to use when faced with irregular operations.
Must have a practical background in application of aviation regulations safety standards and safe operating practices.
Must be flexible with schedule and be able to work within a 24/7 operation; including weekends (ie. Friday Saturday Sunday) holidays and days off.
Required Work Cards/Certifications:
Must be able to obtain and retain Airport Operational Area (AOA) badging and ramp license from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation.
Valid Hawaii Drivers License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record.
Physical Requirements:
The Ramp Service Agent position is a very physical position working outside in the elements.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distant vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally required to operate objects tools or controls.
