Job Description

Join a world-renowned vegetable tannery with a rich heritage dating back to 1867. We specialize in producing durable, exquisite leathers through an eco-friendly process and are seeking dedicated general production workers to become integral parts of our team.

• Support various stages of the vegetable tanning process, ensuring high-quality leather production.
• Safely and efficiently assist operators of production machinery and equipment by maintaining available stocks of materials.
• Inspect leather products for defects and ensure they meet company standards.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
• Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines.

• Previous production/manufacturing experience.
• Comfortable with physically demanding work and standing for the entirety of the shift.
• Strong reliability in previous roles.

• Flexibility to work in various areas of the facility.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation if required.
• Steel-toed shoes are required.

We offer a flexible work environment with the unique benefit of a 2-3 week paid closure every summer, providing a form of bulk PTO. Employees also enjoy flexibility in taking time off throughout the year.

The work environment includes exposure to strong smells, such as chemical odors when working with wet hides and a leather-like scent in other areas. The facility can be loud and dirty at times and is not climate-controlled, which means it can be chillier in winter and warmer in summer. Employees are allowed to wear protective gear such as hooded coats, goggles, and gloves, most of which are provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Curwensville, PA.

The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $15.75/hr.
