Data Management Support Intern

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) seeks a highly motivated and skilled Masters-level student intern to support the Global Safety, Security and Safeguarding team. The Data Management Support Intern supports Habitat for Humanity International’s (HFHI) commitment to duty of care, which encompasses safeguarding as well as safety and security. This role contributes to strengthening systems that prevent and respond to sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment, while also supporting broader initiatives that promote the wellbeing and protection of HFHI’s staff, volunteers, and community members. This position provides critical assistance in case management, knowledge management and training development. Further, the position assists with incident management systems build out for safety and security serving as a coordinator for communications with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• General support to Directors of Safeguarding and Safety & Security in policy implementation.
• Contribute to the development of safeguarding case management systems, including stakeholder mapping, documentation review, and the creation of RASCI charts, process flow diagrams, and intake forms.
• Design and develop safeguarding training materials, including presentations, videos, and e-learning narration transcripts, to support internal capacity building and awareness-raising.
• Maintain and enhance safeguarding knowledge management systems, including organizing documentation, moderating Teams channels, updating SmartSheet project management platforms and workplans, and supporting the documentation of Community of Practice meetings and virtual global conferences.
• Support the integration of safeguarding responsibilities into job descriptions.
• Assist in mapping survivor support services and contribute to the development of content and tools to promote and operationalize the Survivor Support Framework across the organization.
• Coordinates communications with in-country Security Focal Points on a GIS project to map locations, assets with risk overlays.
• Editor for guidance templates for the in-country Incident Management Plan and Business Continuity Plan required for all National Offices and Branches by the Global Safety and Security Policy.
• Assists with the development of criteria for incidents as relates to activation of in-country (NO/Branch) Incident Management Team and Area Office Critical Incident Management Team.

Requirements:
• Recent college graduate or master’s Level student, preferably in relevant field such as social sciences, psychology, social work, child development, or law
• 2-3 years of coursework, volunteer or other experience in related area (e.g. humanitarian protection, child protection, gender-based violence, orphans & vulnerable groups, etc.)
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a global and cross-cultural organization.
• Demonstrable experience of successfully engaging with colleagues from diverse backgrounds (including remote/virtual engagement)
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion and good judgment
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Experience working with vulnerable groups
