Controller | Mattawan, MI

Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
• Direct all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate financial policies.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and support operational decision-making.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and fixed asset accounting.
• Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory valuation specific to manufacturing operations.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies to financial processes.
• Proven involvement in successful ERP system implementations or significant upgrades within a manufacturing context.
• Advanced proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for operational and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions (M&A) due diligence and integration activities.
