Salary: All adjunct instructors are paid on a per-credit basis

CNCC is seeking qualified part-time instructors to teach fully online courses in Biology. Reporting to the Dean of Academic Affairs and Online Learning, as a part time instructor you
would share your skills and knowledge to prepare CNCC and Colorado Online students for
successful careers. Using a master course template that follows Quality Matters (QM) design
standards, you would personalize the course and supplemental content to provide a robust
online learning experience to our students. You would also enjoy the flexibility of working from home and receive support in the form of professional development opportunities, access to an extensive library of resources, a teaching excellence program, and a community of colleagues.

• Use online course template as course foundation. Personalize course and supplemental

• Facilitate online discussions and student engagement
• Provide instruction to help student meet course objectives
• Deliver assessments and maintain records on students’ progress and attainment
• Regularly monitor course and meet all program deadlines
• Respond in a timely manner to students’ and department chair’s communications
• Collaborate with department chair to continually improve course offerings
• Foster inclusivity and diverse thought

Education and Training: A graduate degree from an accredited institution and least 18 graduate credit hours in Biology or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD in the discipline or a secondary teaching credential within the discipline or a related

• BANNER software experience
• Quality Matters (QM) certifications

Qualities That Will Help You Succeed in This Position:

• Must physically work in the state of Colorado.
  
  

• Previous higher education teaching experience (preferably at the community college
  level).
  
  

• Online teaching experience.
  
  

• Strong computer and Internet skills
  
  

• Good written communication skills.
  
  

• Understanding of adult learning theories and ability to effectively apply this knowledge in
  online learning environment.
  
  

• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  
  

• Computer proficiency to keep up with all e-mail communications, posting student
  grades, checking enrollment rosters, student referrals, advisement and registrations.
  
  

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of college
  staff, college organizational units and departments, students, and external stakeholders.
  
  

• Ability to operate the following at a high level:
  Computer/Printer
  MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  Multi-line phone system
  Video/Audio Equipment
